Alyssa
2016 Award Recepient
In 2015, I had several admissions to the hospital due to repeated Sickle Cell crises, but I was able to maintain a B+ average throughout the school year. I am determined to work very hard to achieve a good career.
The Dotty Nicholas Sickle Cell Scholarship is very important to me because it helps to relieve some of the financial burden associated with my education. I am certainly looking forward to attending college without having to work extra jobs to finance my college education.
Alyssa will be pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Work at the Centennial College of Applied Arts in September 2016.
