Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Who Can Apply

This scholarship opportunity is exclusively available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease who are enrolled in recognized degree, diploma, or certificate programs across Canada.

Application Requirements

To qualify for consideration, applicants must fulfill these essential criteria:

Medical and Residency Status

  • Confirmed diagnosis of Sickle Cell Disease

  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residence status

Academic Documentation

  • Official transcripts from tertiary or secondary educational institutions

  • Two professional letters of recommendation: one from your current educational institution and another from a reputable business or community organization

Community Involvement

  • Demonstrated record of voluntary community service

  • Commitment to serve as a voluntary member of the Dotty Nicholas Sickle Cell Scholarship organization for minimum two years post-award

Personal Statement

  • Submit a compelling 1000-word essay describing how scholarship funding will help achieve your life goals
