Award Banquet 2017


The Dotty Nicholas Sickle Cell Scholarship Banquet was held on April 29th of this year at the prestigious Park View Manor 55 Barber Green Road,North York. It was an evening filled with music, speeches and laughter, co hosted by the always entertaining Sheldon Neil and Richard Newman. There were guest such as the Hon. Gary Anadasangaree MPP of Scarborough Rouge Park, the Consul General of Jamoica Lloyd Wilks, Senior Pastor of the Rhema Christian Ministries Pastor Orim Meikle and the Rhema congregation Doctors and Nurses from the Scarborough Rouge Hospital, (Centenary Site), Pastor Marcelle James and the Metro Church of God congregation, friend and relatives.

Beyond Sound Drumming Corp rocked the audience with drumming that pierces heart and soul of those present. Trail-blazer Pastor Marcelle James from the Metro Church of God was the Keynote speaker for the evening. She had the audience spell bound when she reiterated the history of her faith and resilience as she journey through the years with her son who had sickle cell disease. Songbird Londa Larmond filled the air with her melodious voice serenaded the couples. Deddie Nichols chirographed her dancing art so beautifully to the song of Deborah Joy Winans “ The Master’s Calling” .

The evening was a tremendous success where four beautiful young ladies were awarded scholarships to Universities and Colleges.

The Dotty Nicholas Sickle Cell Scholarship Fund Association is a registered Not-For-Profit benevolent organisation , owned and operated in Ontario Canada by Dotty Nicholas. The organization seeks to assist young people with sickle cell disease by sponsoring their higher education programs at local tertiary institutions in Canada.
