Moments of Inspiration

A collection of thoughts, poems and songs by Elder Dotty Nicholas

Christopher Anius (2018 Award Recipient)

My name is Christopher Anius, at the age of two I was diagnosed with Sickle Cell. Throughout my entire life living with Sickle cell I had to limit on the activities and the dreams I wanted to accomplish, I went through many crises but I was determined to go through them.

I currently live in Brampton, Ontario with my parents and brothers. I am currently attending St. Augustine Secondary School living a normal life, having fun with family and friends, doing all the things that I can make possible. My favourite subject in school is English.

At the end of this year, I plan on attending Humber College to study Business Administration to further my knowledge on what it’s like to become a business person. Other subjects I take are, International Business, Accounting and Math. My hobbies are playing Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, hanging out with my friends, and playing video games. Don’t let a sickness control what you will do in your future, the only one that can decide your future is you.
