THE DAY IS ENDED by Elder Dotty Nicholas

The brilliant evening sun peers through the trees
Like a ball of fire. It’s rays sparkles on the leaves
The shadows of evening creeps slowly o'er the sky
Birds and beast slowly preparing to rest so they cry
Another day is ended
The darkness falls and we must rest
The stillness of the evening seem unreal
No one can imagine, how calm the atmosphere feels
The ocean breathe in silence, its waves are still
The call is heard from creatures near
Come to sleep the day is over
The darkness falls and we must rest
The creatures of the night making strange sounds
The day is ended, the ocean waves ceased dashing.
Boats glide slowly across the bay
Reaching for their docks where they anchored, and stay
The night is fallen, all creatures come home from play
The darkness falls and we must rest.
I looked at the brilliant sun sinking fast
Beyond the dark clouds it disappears at last
The shadows of the night obscure the bright blue sky
The long day is over, birds, and beast no echoes no reply
Another day is ended, creation is rejoicing
The darkness falls, and we must rest
